Maine Auctioneers Association 2017 Annual Membership Meeting
June 5, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at the Maine Maritime Museum, 243 Washington St., Bath, ME
Featuring Darron Meares, CAI, BAS, MPPA
Please join Maine Auctioneers at the Maine Maritime Museum for our Annual General Membership Meeting. At this meeting, we will look at projects planned for the coming year, and elect officers. We will also enjoy a presentation from Darron Meares, CAI, BAS, MPPA.
Darron is the COO of the Meares Auction Group located in South Carolina. He is a former National Auctioneers Association Board member and is the current Chairman of the NAA Education Institute. He has served on various educational committees, including Chairman of the GPPA and CAI committees. He will speak to us about Generational Differences in the Auction Industry. Clients, customers and employees are getting younger, and we are seeing the greatest turnover in the history of the profession. This talk will help auctioneers and support staff understand some of the differences in ways that will help our businesses grow and thrive.
Back by popular demand, the Winnegance General Store will serve homemade clam chowder, sandwiches and desert. Cost of the lunch will be $10 per person, or free for members joining or renewing at the meeting.
Reservations are requested. Please call or text Ruth Lind, Moxie Auctions, at 207-751-1430, or email Ruth at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 26, 2017, and let her know your name and how many people will attend.
After lunch, any interested guests will be invited to take a look at the Mary E, the oldest surviving Bath-built schooner, which will be docked at the shipyard undergoing restoration. Museum guides will give you the complete 411 on this 1906 vessel that is such a large part of our State’s history.
Looking forward to seeing you June 5!
