The Maine Auctioneers Association (MAA) is a state-wide association dedicated to improving professionalism in the auction industry and promoting the auction method of marketing. The Association offers leadership, support, information and assistance to its members through its various committees and services, and lobbies to protect and enhance auction interests in the State. Members in good standing in the Maine Auctioneers Association abide by Maine Auction Law, MAA By-Laws and a strict Code of Ethics.

2010 Annual Meeting

The Maine Auctioneers Association held its annual meeting on January 8 & 9, 2010 at Point Lookout Resort and Conference Center in Northport ME. Our NAA representative speaker was Mark H. Shear,CAI,GPPA-M,CES,AARE, President of Berman Auctioneers and Appraisers.Mark is a Trustee of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Education Institute where he is the chairman of the Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE) education designation program.Rusty Farrin of Farrins Country Auctions has been elected the President of the Maine Auctioneers Association and Kevin Tilton was eleceted Vice President. James Heckman of Vassalboro and James Keating of Kennebunk were inducted into the Maine Auctioneers Hall of Fame.  Tom Peaco of the Make A Wish Foundation was presented a check for $1000.00 from the Maine Auctioneers Association.  Jim Heckman won the bid calling contest with John Boyd being the runner up. Mr. Heckman donated his $250.00 first prize to the Make A Wish Foundation.
