Welcome The Maine Auctioneers Association (MAA) is a state-wide association dedicated to improving professionalism in the auction industry and promoting the auction method of marketing. The Association offers leadership, support, information and assistance to its members through its various committees and services, and lobbies to protect and enhance auction interests in the State. Members in good standing in the Maine Auctioneers Association abide by Maine Auction Law, MAA By-Laws and a strict Code of Ethics. Please contact us with questions or comments 2008 Spring MeetingThe meeting will be held on Monday, April 28th at noon at Dimillo's on the Portland waterfront. Roger Durkin, ASA will be the featured speaker and he will bring us up to date on the new IRS regulations for appraisers. See your Spring MAA newsletter for more details. 2008 Annual Meeting The Maine Auctioneers Association held its Annual Meeting on Jan. 11-12, 2008 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. William Head of the NAA Board of Directors spoke on Web page advertising and the various designations the NAA has for its members. Kathy Kingston told us how to run successful fund raising auctions for non-profits. Bruce Collins talked about running successful eBay auctions. James Keating Sr and Bruce Collins were inducted into the Maine Auctioneers Hall of Fame. The Annual Fun Auction was held Friday evening after dinner with much of the money raised going to be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation.
